October 2019, with the leading and grace of God, we planted our first studio suite in the heart of The Garden City-Orangeburg, SC. Why Orangeburg? Why not. This city’s health and wellness is just as important as the next’s.

Ebony L. Jones-Washington is an accomplished and phenomenal licensed massage therapist. She specializes in soft tissue manipulation with a particular focus on muscle and taut areas. Her goal for each session is to relax areas where muscles are stressed and give relief from pain and health problems in other parts of the body.

Aside her nine years of experience, she also served as a Clinical Massage Therapy Instructor at Midlands Technical College. After her second year, she launched “Massage Like a Pro”—a course that teaches knowledge and skills to families and community so they may also provide massage and safe touch in home.

Ebony is also the owner and Lead Licensed Massage Therapist at Gifted Hands Concierge Spa. She serves as one of South Carolina’s Massage Therapist within the SportStretch USA group to professional athletes.

Pre Natal and Post Natal Massage

[non high risk, second and third trimester]

Pre-Natal Massage- Spa treatments can relieve the main discomforts of pregnancy, and the spa atmosphere can relax expectant mothers overwhelmed by the changes in their bodies. Some, however, worry that pampering could cause harm. Prenatal massage can relieve back pain and improve sleep and mood, as well as decrease stress and reduce labor complications. Prenatal massage is best given while you lie on your side propped up by pillows. Neck and shoulder massage is a safe sitting-up option, as well.

Customized Swedish Massage

Swedish massage with a twist. This is the basic relaxing full body massage which may include a variety of massage strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve circulation. These sessions may also include range of motion (stretching). The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, and greater flexibility.

Range of Motion decreased? Stiffness? Overworked? Improve your limited range of motion and circulation with AAS and PAS sessions.

Hot Stone

Hot stone massage is a variation on classic massage therapy. Heated smooth, flat stones are placed on key points on the body. The massage therapist may also hold the stones and use them to massage certain areas of the body. The hot stones are usually made of basalt, a type of rock that is rich in iron, so they retain heat.

The stones are heated in an electric heating device until they are within a certain temperature range. The stones may be placed at specific points on the back, in the palms of the hand, or between the toes. The heat warms and relaxes the muscles, which allows the therapist to apply deeper pressure, if desired. The warmth of the hot stones improves circulation and calms the nervous system.

SportsStretch

SportStretch® is a floor mat, movement based, full body routine that consists of both actively and passively stretching a client. It can be done as an individual treatment or integrated into the end of a massage. This work can be used as a warmup prior to activity, as it can invigorate an athlete and get them ready to move, or it can be applied as recovery work, to relax them after activity.

Deep Tissue / Myofascial Release

Deep Tissue Massage is best for giving attention to certain painful, stiff "trouble spots" in your body. The massage therapist uses slow, deliberate strokes that focus pressure on layers of muscles, tendons, or other tissues deep under your skin. Though less rhythmic than other types of massage, deep tissue massage can be quite therapeutic - relieving chronic patterns of tension and helping with muscle injuries, such as back sprain.

No call / no show will be responsible for a $50 fee before they can reschedule. If you are more than 10mins late, without communication, your appointment will be cancelled and the same penalty applies.

Frequently Asked Questions

1) Where will my massage or bodywork session take place?

Your massage or bodywork session will take place in a warm, comfortable, quiet space. Soft music may be played to help you relax. You will lie on a table especially designed for your comfort.

2) Must I be completely undressed?

Most massage and bodywork techniques are traditionally performed with the client unclothed; however, it is entirely up to you what you want to wear. You should undress to your level of comfort. You will be properly draped during the entire session.

3) Will I be covered during the session?

You will be properly draped at all times to keep you warm and comfortable. Only the area being worked on will be exposed.

4) What parts of my body will be massaged?

A typical full-body session will include work on your back, arms, legs, feet, hands, head, neck, and shoulders. Genitalia services are NOT offered or performed at our practice.

5) What should I do during the massage or bodywork session?

Prior to the massage, feel free to ask the practitioner any questions about the technique or the upcoming session. During the massage, make yourself comfortable. The practitioner will either gently move you or tell you what is needed throughout the session (such as lifting your arm). Many people just close their eyes and completely relax, communicating if/when they need more or less pressure, another blanket, or anything else relevant to the session. If you have any questions regarding the session or about the particular technique you are receiving, feel free to ask.
